Myth: Injury = Weakness
Injuries can be humbling, scary & sometimes frustrating. Yet, in dance, we are often fearful of stopping, slowing down, or speaking up about injuries because an injury is often seen as weakness &/or setback. And while that may be TRUE to some extent, an injury is also an OPPORTUNITY.

How do you know what a stress response looks like in you? If you find yourself clenching your jaw = FIGHT, holding your breath = FREEZE, excessively exercising = FLIGHT. Happily, there are activities you can try to help shift out of this mode.

SCIENCE isn't always black and white, but it gets even muddier when it is unclear what factors determine their interpretation. It's often our interpretations that make it confusing.
