consultant
Let’s chat! A complimentary phone consultation is a useful tool to identify if you’re a good candidate for physical therapy. It’s the first step in learning more about your body and condition. You’ll receive tangible guidance on where to start your journey to being a healthier YOU.
physical therapy
Physical therapy (PT) is for all ages and abilities. For many orthopedic conditions, PT has been found to be as effective, if not more effective, than surgery. When you #getpt1st, you are making an investment in your long-term health and wellness.
A program addressing your specific orthopedic condition, goals, challenges, and needs will be developed after your 1st session and reassessed or revised as needed. Sessions are packaged for optimal results and include a combination of the following interventions:
Manual therapy: use of hands-on techniques to address mechanical dysfunctions (i.e. soft tissue, joint, visceral, neurovascular mobilization)
Neuromuscular re-education: use of hands-on techniques to facilitate efficient neuromuscular responses (i.e. core initiation)
Therapeutic exercises: use of appropriate exercises to restore mobility, stability, strength, and flexibility
Postural education and dynamic training: use of anatomical imagery and body mechanics to create strategies and self-corrections for daily activities (i.e. sitting)
pelvic health
The Pelvis is home to the bladder, rectum, and reproductive organs. The muscles of the pelvis include the Pelvic Floor Muscles, a group of muscles responsible for continence, bowel and sexual function. Muscles that are dynamically synchronized with the breath and deeply influenced by your nervous system.
Pelvic Health Dysfunction can cause a cluster of symptoms including (but limited to):
Urinary incontinence/Nocturia
Fecal incontinence/Constipation
Pelvic organ prolapse
Vulvodynia/Vulvar pain
